H Pronunciation Drills
The English 'h' is pronounced by breathing into the sound, as opposed to the French 'h'. However, there are a few exceptions where the 'h' is silent. Hour, honest, honour, heir, exhaust, exhibit, and sometimes herb (can be pronounced with or without the 'h' sound) are the only exceptions.
1- Hi, my name is Harold Humbart.
2- I hate eating ham.
3- I ate ham in the hall between classes.
4- I felt ill on the hill.
5-There were ads on the walls in the main hall of the house.
6- I heard him hit it with his wooden horse.
7- The hair on my head is up in the air.
8- He hate what he ate so much that he threw up.
9- Help her with the eel on her heel!
10- The hole in my yard takes up a whole yard.
11- Harry is partially deaf. He can't hear in his left ear.
12- The hare ran into the hole.
13- Andy is so handy that they call him Handy Andy.

16- The whole way down the hole Alice wondered where she was heading.
